We are making photographs to understand what life really means to us - ralph hattersly

In the busy world we live in today, more often than not, we are consumed by noise, by media, by work, whatever distraction we have allowed to take hold. We aren't slowing down to take it all in. To take in the little nuances of life. Do we see the wrinkles starting to form? The few inches our kids have grown the past year? The subtle features and personality changes our kids now have? Do you see your spouse aging?
My goal is to capture these things so that years from now, you too have the chance to look back and see a moment in time. Whether it be your newly engaged self, the littleness of your children, or maybe the last picture you may get with a family member. Pictures are a time capsule!
In 2012, my husband asked me if I could do any job in the world what would it be - pay is not a factor. It didn't take long for me to reply, photography.
At a very young age, I started taking pictures with whatever camera I could get my hands on. I was in love with capturing a moment in time or a memory. In high school, I joined yearbook and that's where I first learned the power of a DSLR!
Since opening my business, I have had the chance to capture weddings, events, families, seniors, babies, editorial, corporate, and nature!
After spending several years as a wedding photographer and capturing some amazing weddings in the Rockies, I decided it was time to focus my efforts on families, babies, documentary, and now grief sessions. Though I still offer elopement photography & Orthodox Christian Wedding photography. More than anything, I want my photographs to say more - I want them to share life, joy, grief, and everything in between. After the loss of my son Remington and some major health struggles, I realized I wanted to show more “honest” life, not just the curated. That’s where the documentary and grief sessions come in.
Whether your family session is full of tears and struggles, your adoption story is a little messy, your hosting an event to further a cause, I am here for all of it!
When I am not behind my lens, I am spending time with my 3 little boys, Hudson, Athen, and August. We love golfing, swimming, & dance parties in our kitchen.
I can't wait to get to know you and hear your story!
